M3 Ds Real Review
M3 DS Real:
The M3 DS Real is one of the few flash carts that is slot-1 and includes a GBA expansion and a Rumble pack expansion. Both expansions are slot-2, and give you the full advantages buying the real game would. Unlike combining the EzFlash3in1 with other slot-1's, the M3 DS Real supports GBA games natively, meaning no patches or files need to be run before playing a DS game. Similarly, you do not need to "activate" the rumble pack through a program (such as Rudolph's 3in1 tool). It will automatically rumble if the game supports rumbling. M3 DS Real and EDGE Review
Both videos are already done and on the web, check them out at my youtube channel: http://youtube.com/user/iwakura
I'm working on the text reviews - those should be out shortly. G6DS Real Review
The G6DS Real is a slot-1 solution for your PDA, music, video, and gaming needs. It is currently one of my top 3 favorite flash carts.* It has a nice build, slips into the DS easily, and has a firm and sturdy feel to it.
Reviews coming up!
I've contacted a few retailers and companies, and I'm hoping to get some more flash carts to review! click on read more to find out what I'm trying to get!
R4 Review
Brief Overview:
The R4 is a slot-1 solution for the DS, playing homebrew, movies, games, and works as a passme for slot-2 devices. Cheaply priced, the R4 is one of the most common flash carts on the market. They are very well built apart from one major flaw - the broken spring. However, these tend to last a few months, and will serve you dutifully. Also, treated with care, some have lasted since they were released (mine has so far!). DS-X Review
Brief Overview:
The DS-X was one of the first slot-1 cards to come out. It was supposed to be the solution to everything, homebrew, roms, etc. With a built in USB port (built into the actual cartridge), and 6 LED lights (RBG, 3 on each side) it is also the most stylish. While being the most expensive flash cartridge out, it was supposed to be the ideal cart - after all, you get what you pay for...right? CycloDS Evolution Review
Brief Overview:
The CycloDS is a slot-1 solution for the DS, playing homebrew, movies, games, and works as a passme for slot-2 devices. In comparison to other brands, it is
among the most unique and updated for a few reasons. First, it has its firmware on a separate location in cart - the firmware is not stored on the microSD.
Secondly, it supports homebrew that isn't DLDI patched; it patches as it runs the .nds file. Third, it has 100% download play capacity, which means it includes the many games that the R4 does not support, including Mario Kart and Metroid Prime Hunters. Fourth and last, it boasts to take the new SDHC microSD cards, meaning it can go up to 8 gb (so far).
AceKard RPG Review
The AceKard R.P.G. is made by the same developers that made the original AceKard. Although it never really took off, I have heard that it was one of the best carts, but did NOT have the best appeal. It was one of the only (if not only!) carts that did NOT need a patch when Zelda Phantom Hourglass was released (in Japanese) and that provides me with some assurance that this cart will be much more future-proof than most carts claim. It has a built in memory along with a slot for taking microSD cards (microSDHC included!). It seems to have a fairly decent built quality and is hardly bulky. The microSD card is spring loaded, but it seems to be a different build/company that makes these because these feel much more secure when clicking the microSD in comparison to the R4.
